I think I'm in Hell

Absolutely no sleep last night, can you say insomnia? My head is pounding. The San Francisco Bay Bridge was to supposed to re-open this morning and because a major crack was found, it was scheduled to be re-open tomorrow at 5am. Woke up at 4am and just got to work it's 6:30am, had to take the long way not to mention everyone else was going the same way. The positive, was able to take the carpool lane, save me $4 in bridge toll.

I'm seeing the light beyond the tunnel. Wholly Schmolly, I just found out the Bay Bridge will re-open at 7am this morning, way ahead of schedule. I'm relieved this will make for a quicker commute home instead of a nightmare. I have much to write about, but am way to tired to do so. Sorry everything will have to wait till tomorrow.

In case you want to read about the Bay Bridge, here is the link http://cbs5.com/local/bay.bridge.crack.2.1169593.html. I believe 280,000 people cross the bridge daily. They cut out an entire section of the bridge and slid another section into place as a detour while the bridge is re-built. Apparently this was a major deal as it has never been done before. Meanwhile back on the ranch the bridge was inspected and a major crack was found that could have made the entire bridge collapse. It's a race against time to get the bridge re-built before the next major earthquake. Joy, and I drive this bridge twice a day. I'm feeling a bit safer now though. This is the same bridge that in the huge 1989 earthquake (I was 11) to which the top section collapsed onto the bottom section. They've been retro-fitting it since then.

Anyway gotta get a cup of coffee and some work done. It's the beg of the month, so I need to close the books and prep for a board meeting.

Hi! Popping over from SITS Roll Call again to visit.

I know what you've been going through with the bridge. Hurricane Katrina knocked out 2 of our major bridges here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast - one between Biloxi and Ocean Springs, and the other in Bay St. Louis. Not only did it kills tourism turning busy towns into dead end streets, but it was a commuter nightmare for several years. What an event when those bridges reopened finally!

Hope you have a great week.

Really? Yeah I have to pay $4 a day to just cross the bridge, soon to be $5. Some people have to pay to cross the bridge and then pay $30 plus a day to park just to go to work. It's the price you pay to live in the suburbs and need to work in the city ot make money to pay your morgage. SF Bay area is sooooooo expensive to live in, but it's also so worth it!!

Oooh girl, I'm so sorry you're having a rough time of it lately. Insomnia's a total pain. When hubby's on night shift I don't sleep much either, which makes for a crankier version of me in the morning. Gotta love the car pool lanes. They sure can save some time and money. Hang in there!

Oh, I can totally relate to the insomnia! Hope you can get some better rest tonight. Rush hour traffic is bad enough... I'm so sorry you have to deal with that bridge non-sense. Yikes!
