The Man Cave

What do you think of when you hear the words, "MAN CAVE?"

According to the Urban Dictionary - A man cave is a room, space, corner or area of a dwelling that is specifically reserved for a male person to be in a solitary condition, away from the rest of the household in order to work, play, involve himself in certain hobbies, activities without interruption. This area is usually decorated by the male that uses it without interference from any female influence.

Now when you think about they type of person who would normal need a man cave, your husband, boyfriend, brother or friend probably comes to mind. Right?

In my household, that's just not the case. This is the face of the man behind the Man Cave in our house:

And this is what his Man Cave looks like:

The boy spends so much time doing God knows what in his bedroom that it's been dubbed, The Man Cave. Yes, we actually call his bedroom the Man Cave. It's fully equipped with everything a little boy or man would want or need, minus a fridge for his chocolate milk. I had to draw the line somewhere. It's decked out with all kinds of BOY posters and a transformers bed set. He has a TV, video game systems and tons of books to read and an art supplies. A full length closet mirror is readily available so he is able to stare at and admire his muscles. If he could he'd probably just pee out of his window, so he never has to leave the room. Yes those are labels on his dresser drawers. Come on he's a boy, he needs help staying organized. Recently he got a robe for Christmas. Sunday morning he came downstairs wearing blue camo pajama pants and his blue camo robe half open with no shirt. I wish I took a picture, he looked like a miniature Hugh Hefner. The Boy is only 9 years old, I can only imagine what I'm in for when he hits his Teens!

Are you living with a Man Cave? What do you call a room for woman? Woman Cave? I want my own cave.

LOve the man cave. My husband is always complaining he doesn't have a space for him. So, he built our Bear Den, but now it's my studio, so sorry.

I think the whole house is considered the woman's cave, and the mama bear lets her cubs in.

I love his man cave. If I had that room, I would never leave it either!

wow some kids have it all! My kids share a bedroom and then have a playroom. No tv in either one. I have mom corners but so far have been unsuccessful at getting a whole room, but I live and hope.

Did you tidy up before taking the pics? I like it. We don't really have a man-cave here yet, but my husband is working on it. My house is my cave. :)

haha I started cracking up when you said except for the fridge w/o the chocolate milk, cuz I'm pretty sure the bf would want that in his man cave!

I can only imagine what my son will be like at that age! I'm sure he'll have his own man cave also...one where my husband will hide out from us girls as well...lol!

I've been meaning to stop by after you checked out my blog and read my story about my grandfather...and I actually don't remember if I already did or not! So thank you for stopping by and showing some comment love!

If I already said thanks...just chalk it up to me being a busy mom with a bad memory! I'm sure you know how that is!

Have a great weekend!

Dude the boy's TV is totes bigger than mine. My hubs would be so jealous, lol.

I think a Chick Cave is commonly called a sewing room, hehe

Haha! My son has dubbed his own room the "Man Cave" and I am continually correcting him. It's the "Boy Barn".

Very cool "man cave" for your son there. My husband's is in the basement where he watches his Boston sports teams usually win, reads and exercises.

My "hideout" is the computer room where I spend most of my time when I'm inside.

Congrats on your SITS day!

We have ManLand. It's our finished basement. Has the really good t.v. and best recliner. I watch some shows down there ;)
My own sanctuary? my guest bedroom that has my paper products (i'm a paper whore) and sewing machine. Yah. I'm a lil lame like that.

Happy SITS day!

I LOVE the labels on the drawers. I'm going to try that with my 12 year old girl whose organizational skills are sorely lacking. I share my home with 3 dogs, (all girls), 3 daughters, and 1 poor, poor outnumbered husband. His man cave is his garage. He has every toy you can imagine and he finds great joy in being in his man cave.

I want a chick cave! I have a corner of my bedroom where my desk sits, but guess what? Everyone can find me out there! I want a little studio with a lock and a key. That would be nirvana!

A mom cave is a haven of peace and serenity, in which children cannot cross the line at the door (ha! like that's ever going to happen).

I'm impressed, does the Boy clean his man cave on his own? If so, you've really given him a life skill.

Although I think the man cave should be as the "man" desires.

In my home, the rest of the house is kept mostly as I like it.
