Guest Post from a Crazy Family Member

Why I love Easter. I know the good Christian girl in me should say “The Resurrection of Jesus Christ”. And don’t misunderstand or misinterpret. I understand and I want my kids to understand the true meaning of Easter just like the true meaning behind other holidays. But, the kid in me has to admit my favorite part is EASTER EGG Hunts! Hunting Easter eggs is the most fun part of Easter for kids. Hiding the eggs for the kids to find is fun for the parents. But NOT hiding the eggs and telling the kids you did and to keep looking harder.. .. that is fun for everyone. Happy Easter !! and Happy Hiding/Hunting.

The Egg hunt is my favorite part too. I think it's just about everyone's favorite part.

Is it sad I don't even know what easter is about? Yeah what's with the Rabbit and Eggs anyway?

My hubs asked me the other day what the heck the bunny and eggs were all about on Easter. I have NO clue. :) Hunting easter eggs is HOURS of fun at our house. And cheap. :)

Our children used to love hunting down every last egg..filled with who knows what...it is fun! The real meaning of Easter is the ressurection of our Savior Jesus Christ, Lisa Anne...but that does not mean kids can't have fun too! Not sure what the whole bunny and eggs have to do with the ressurection but I will find out!

Great post. Your relative must be the best big sister in the world. She is so wonderful and intelligent.

The Easter Bunny as an Easter symbol bringing Easter eggs seems to have its origins in Alsace and the Upper Rhineland, both then in the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation, and southwestern Germany, where it was first recorded in a German publication in the early 1600s. The first edible Easter Bunnies were made in Germany during the early 1800s and were made of pastry and sugar.

Easter eggs or spring eggs are special eggs given to celebrate the Easter holiday or springtime.
The egg was a symbol of the rebirth of the earth in celebrations of spring and was adopted by early Christians as a symbol of the resurrection of Jesus.[1]
The oldest tradition is to use dyed or painted chicken eggs, but a modern custom is to substitute chocolate eggs, or plastic eggs filled with confectionery such as jelly beans. These eggs are often hidden, allegedly by the Easter Bunny, for children to find on Easter morning. Otherwise, they are generally put in a basket filled with real or artificial straw to resemble a bird's nest

We still have to hide ours pretty easy for the kids, but when they get older I will make it super hard for them! :)
