Don't Underestimate It.........

It was report card week. I am so proud of The Boy. He received straight A's!! Well according to him he received all A's and two A minuses. There is a difference he says. All A's means you are distinguished scholar. He got two A minuses, therefore he is not a distinguished scholar.

WELL DARN IT, HE IS IN MY BOOK!!

You see this is a pretty big deal, considering The Boy was on the verge of failing the 4th grade. He had A's on his tests, however he had all in completes on all of his homework. I didn't get it. He did his homework, he just never turned it in. When you asked him why, he simply replied, "I don't know?"

So this is a huge accomplishment to go from all in completes to all A's.

So in lieu of this accomplishment he was rewarded with this:

Yes, The BF bought him his first golf bag!

Before his lesson on Saturday we went to the golfing range. I totally underestimated this. It's a lot harder than it appears. If you ask The Boy how I did, he'd reply, "HORRIBLE!" I did hit it 100 yards though, once!

Check out his perfect form. Perfect!

Me, not so much! I refuse to give up. This was my first time, I need practice. Yes, don't laugh I am wearing flip flops to the golfing range. So what!!

After the golfing range we had some time left for The Boy to work on his putting!

The BF is researching getting himself some clubs of his own. He's trying to talk everyone he knows into going golfing with him. I can't wait for our first round of golf.

My bf is on my case to learn to golf, too.

How did you motivate your son to get his work turned in? I am at my wits end with my little man and his missing school work.

G'am! That is awesome. Congrats to your son. Golfing is hard work. Esp when you hit the ball a 100 times and it doesn't really go anywhere.

woot woot straight A's is huge. don't you think it's harder to do that now then when we were kids? and I think rewards are so great when they are earned. you must be a proud mama

Yay! Congrats to the boy on such a great report card.

BTW, I've been golfing twice in my life and it was soooooo much harder than I'd ever imagined...not my favourite thing to do but if the boyfriend wanted me to I'd join him sometime.

How FUN! My husband is a huge golfer. Handicap is at 3! Then again, he owns a putting green company, lol. So we've got two at home and he practices all year round.

A GREAT sport for kids to take up in so many ways! Teaches a lot about patience and fairness and life in general! WONDERFULLLLL!

Fore!

I love that it is warm enough where you are to wear flipflops. Awesome. and what a relief for you that he was able to bring all his grades up. Silly boy, if it is an A, it is an A regardless if there is a plus or minus in front.

That is so awesome!! And yes, an A- still should be considered a distinguished scholar.
