Loyalty and You!

I have to admit I've been a bit behind lately on accepting awards various people have awarded to me and I am so sorry. I've been meaning to create a post about this, however the amount of comments I am receiving on a daily basis, plus visiting all my favorite blogs is very time consuming. I don't know how people with 400 followers and 60 plus comments a day do it?

I'M LOVING THE COMMENTS SO PLEASE KEEP THEM COMING.

It's just taking me 2 days at most to visit and comment back, so please be patient!

I thought it only appropriate to take time to write this post now because TAMELA over at A BRUNETTER MAKING IT ONE DAY AT A TIME, awarded me the DRAGON LOYALTY award! As with all the blogs I read, I think this is a must visit blog. I visit her EVERYDAY, so you should too!

I feel I am a very Loyal blogger and I TOTALLY deserve this award! I'm not cocky, just very confident. LOL I mean I do visit all the blogs on my blog roll on a daily basis and am devoted to visiting all blogs of those who comment on my page. It's very time consuming but worth it all, because there is so much great content out there, I'm constantly learning and growing from your blogs.

So THANK YOU! If it weren't for you and your blogs, I wouldn't have a reason to be LOYAL!

Okay enough with the Sappiness of this post. Lets get to the award and what it all entails!

4) Pass this on to 3-10 loyal fans. YOU GOT IT DUDE!

I have so many Loyal Followers this is going to be hard for me to choose. To be fair, cause I'm all about being fair, I'm just going to open up my email and pick the ten people who have sent me multiple comments in the past two days.

I'M THROWING IN A TWIST, BECAUSE THESE GUYS ARE SO LOYAL, I'M NOT EVEN GOING TO TELL THEM THEY GOT AN AWARD. THEY WILL HOPEFULLY BE SURPRISED WHEN THEY LOYALLY VISIT MY BLOG!

1 plus 99 EQUALS

What do you get when you add 1 plus 99? 100, that is. Yup this is my 100th post!

I KNOW THIS IS A LONG POST, BUT IT'S FUNNY, SO READ IT! At least I think it's funny! You all know I have got to toot my own horn. TooT, TooT! PLUS THERE IS A SURPRISE AT THE END!

If you would have asked me three months ago when I started this whole blog thing, If I'd ever reach 155 plus followers and 100 posts. PLUS not to mention over 10,000 PAGE VIEWS. Half of those 10,000 are probably from ME, but who's counting. Not me, no Sir!

So if you would have asked me that 3 months ago, I probably would have laughed so hard that I'd tinkled my pants and gave myself rib cramps.

I am shocked and proud to have actually stuck to something for this long. Yes this is long for me! I mean hello, I change my darn blog design every 5 minutes, it's no surprise I can't stick to things?

FOR EXAMPLE - over the past two years I've taken or done the following:

1) H&R Block tax classes - Didn't finish, almost but became bored out of my mind and thought it was a complete joke. I've been doing my own taxes for years, waste of my time. Don't trust H&R block people. Insider tip!

2) Cake Decorating classes - Didn't finish, graduated the first two classes, but who has time to make 50 fondant roses. Not me. I was more creative then the teacher in the class, hello have you seen my cakes? They don't teach you that talent in cake class.

3) Taught myself to crochet - Have yet to finish my gigantor blanket I started MONTHS and MONTHS ago, but I will, hopefully when the weather gets cooler. Umm It's been in the high 90's low 100's all summer.

4) Taught myself to sew - Sure I've finished several projects, but I don't take the time to measure or sew perfectly straight. Who has time for that? Not to mention I have yet to even start The BF's fish bag, to which he asks for on a daily basis.

5) Tuesday Football tracker - Yeah I've already wanted to skip this post 2 weeks in a row now. We will see how many more weeks I can get through or if I can even get through the entire season. That would be a SHOCKER!

I could go on and on and on. Do you see any pattern here? Do you understand now why I'm surprised to have met this mark?

I'm always looking for new and different, anything to stimulate my mind.

I guess what keeps me here is the fact that each post is something new and different. I mean some posts have similar themes, however the content of each post is unique in it's own way.

Not to mention I love visiting other people's blogs and finding out that there are people out there who are WAY CRAZIER than me. Just kidding, but no seriously. Some of you are crazy, I'm the normal one. Does anyone else think blogging is a great form of Therapy. Way cheaper too!

I thought long and hard about what I wanted my 100th post to say. Long and hard being a whole whopping HOUR! You thought I was going to say Five minutes didn't you. Yup no, for an entire hour I sat here thinking, pondering on what I could possibly write about.

Envision: My brain, black smoke, yeah nothing there. Then AHHHHHHHHH I see the light. The grand puba of all posts.

Okay now I'm just building this whole 100th post thing up.

Seriously, lets get down to the nitty gritty! I thought I would elaborate on my blog name.

Smell the Coffee Lisa

I've read a lot of comments by people who think that my blog is about coffee and how they were a bit upset to find nothing here about coffee. Don't get me wrong I love my coffee but that's not what it's all about.

The definition of Smell the Coffee is as follows:

When someone doesn't realise what is really happening or is not paying enough attention to events around them, you can tell them to wake up and smell the coffee.

I think we have all been there, right? No, not you? Well I have, who am I kidding. No one's life is perfect, we all have our quirks and who am I to judge anyone for what they do, who they are or what they have to say. I've always said "to each his own!"

Anyway, after reading that definition it reminded me of a scene in the movie, X-MEN ORIGINS. If you have not seen the movie, I think it's worth a netflix rental.

This is also a Possible SPOILER alert, but not an entire movie spoiler, yeah it might actual spoil a good chunk of the movie.

Let me set the scene:

Kayla is Logan's wife and a school teacher. Logan is the Wolverine (well he's not the "Wolverine" just yet, this is how he chooses his name.) Kayla and Logan are sitting in the living room of their cabin one night and Kayla says to Logan.

Kayla Silverfox: Why the moon is so lonely?

Logan: Why?

Kayla Silverfox: Because she used to have a lover.

Logan: You tell this to the kids?

Kayla Silverfox: No.
[Logan laughs]

Kayla Silverfox: His name was Kuekuatsu and they lived in the spirit
world together.

Logan: Oh, this is a true story.

Kayla Silverfox: Mm-hm. And every night, they would wander the skies
together. But, one of the other spirits was jealous. Trickster
wanted the Moon for himself. So he told Kuekuatsu that the Moon had
asked for flowers; he told him to come to our world and pick her
some wild roses. But Kuekuatsu didn't know that once you leave the
spirit world, you can never go back. And every night, he looks up
in the sky and sees the Moon and howls her name. But... he can
never touch her again.

Logan: Wow... Koo-koo-katchoo got screwed!

So later on Kayla goes to state that Kuekuatsu means Wolverine hence how he gets his name. Blah, Blah, Blah. Go see the movie!

Back to my story! If only we had a little man sitting on our shoulders telling us to Smell the Coffee, whenever we are about to make a wrong move. Oh to believe in rainbows and butterflies. Life would be a lot less stressful. We'd know right away what decisions to make regarding every and any situation we encounter in life, no matter what that might be. Why can't there be that little man, so we don't end up screwed like Koo-koo-katchoo. LOL

So in short, Smell the Coffee Lisa is really just a blog about my life and daily activities. I don't have a specific blog theme or plan, except that it's just about me.

I may not be the brightest crayon in the box. I like to say I'm book smart, not street smart. I'm also oblivious to a lot of things that go on around me. I'm a busy girl with a million things on my mind and often lose focus of my original goals.

But HEY, I'm at least woman enough to admit every now and then that I need someone to say:

"Wake up and Smell the Coffee Lisa!"

GIVEAWAY!

So if you read this post in it's entirety, wow you must not have a life. LOL just kidding, you are my number 1 fan! I'm going to give away one of my chalkboards (your choice) from the swap your crafts post. Since only 1 other person joined the craft swap I've got them to giveaway. You get 1 entry. This shall be super easy for my loyal fans! Yup just leave a comment and I'll randomly have my son say a number and if your post is that number you win! Now aren't I clever, or just lazy. The first to comment obviously is number ONE and then I'll count down from there.

http://smellthecoffeelisa.blogspot.com/2009/10/swap-your-crafts-october-edition.html

click the above link to see the chalkboards!

My only rule! I may not be very good at following rules, however I've perfected dishing them out! Your comment has to have some substance to show that you actually read my post or at least parts of it. Torture, I know! Just commenting, "congrats on your 100th post," yeah umm that's not gonna cut it, the winner will then default to the comment BEFORE YOU. These are one of a kind chalkboards, priceless people so you have to do a little work. It's not like I'm making you link to my blog or post about it. LOL I mean you can if you want to.

Now get a commenting.

Maybe I'll get 100 comments, a girl can dream, right!

Google It!

Now I Google, EVERYTHING. Not to mention it's my favorite and most popular thing to say to The Boy. "I don't know, just Google it!" Is that sad?

Oh before I forget, which could happen even in the middle of writing this, today is my 99th post! Which means you have to stop by tomorrow to read my 100th post. Yeah I know 100 already. Time does fly!

So here is how the Google Game works and where I found the idea of it. I was visiting Me, The Man and the Baby and came across her Google post. She originally got it from Steph In The City , who's blog I've never been to, however after I write this I will be stopping by there. So you visit there too!

The rules:

I hate rules, I have to follow rules? Seriously that's like me having to actually read directions. So anyway you read the questions and then go to Google, do a search of images, and post the best image you see on the first page of images for these ten things:

I think you are supposed to write a bit about the image and stuff, but I'll let you all use your imagination as to what the picture is of. Most I'm sure you'll be able to guess. Like, hello, the first picture is Diet Coke.

Here I go!

1. Your Favorite beverage

2. Your hometown

3. Your favorite TV show

4. Your Occupation/You are in school for

5. Your first car

6. Your favorite dish

7. Celebrity you've been told to resemble

8. Celebrity on your "to do" list

9. Favorite Childhood toy

10. Any Random picture

So what are you waiting for?

Come and play!!

Tuesday's Football tracker - Week Five

So I didn't get a chance to watch any of the games, I was to busy crafting and working. I was able to catch a glance at the fact that they still had the PINK BREAST CANCER gloves on and they were still using the towels. GO NFL!!

It ended up being a GREAT weekend for our household.

OHHHH BABY

SEAHAWKS, SKOOLED the Jaguars. It was a SHUT OUT, 40 something to ZERO!! YES a HUGE Shut out!! BOOO YA, take that all you Seahawks HATERS!

They didn't need no stinkin 13 man! No shiny bright green uniforms either! Skillz that's all it was, pure skillz! Okay maybe some luck and the fact that the Jaguars are shitty, but still as win is a win is a win!

COWBOYS beat Kansas City! It was a close game at first but they pulled out the win. I think the Cowboys are having a tough season this year. Romo you better step it up, The BF is getting frustrated with you! I don't need a frustrated BF either. So please get your Shiat together!

All in all it was a Sunday full of smiles!

HOW DID YOUR TEAM DO?

IF YOU DON'T WATCH FOOTBALL, WHAT DID YOU DO THIS WEEKEND?

So did you vote? OMG IT WAS TIE, 8 Votes for each team! This Monday night game didn't nearly have the amount of votes as last week, but it wasn't bad! I think a lot of you didn't want either team to win, but someone has to be a winner.

So the WINNER was....................Miami!

So who's GONNA WIN - WEEK SIX?

Monday October 19, 2009

Denver Broncos VS San Diego Chargers - Playing in San Diego

I'm going to have to go with the Broncos on this one, cause even though my neighbor loves the Chargers, they are having a tough season. Sorry D. Plus I think the Broncos are undefeated. Right, they are, Right?

Weekly Football Commercial

Last week it was the GROOLER, this week it's the FOOZIE. OH YEAH it's tailgate approved! You've just been upgraded to NUMBER ONE!

Till next week, and

DON'T FORGET TO VOTE! Take a guess, I double Dog Dare you!

Halloween Spooktacular - Triple Threat!

It's a triple threat of Halloween Spooktacularness.

I created all of these great items in about 2hrs. YES 2hrs! I'm a busy girl and only have time to create crafts that don't take me FOREVER to make. That and I just don't have patience for anything that takes more than an hour.

Plus you know, I'm a busy person! People to see, autographs to sign, 40th Birthday parties to attend and work to be done. Yes I have TWO jobs and sometimes I have to work on the weekends. Luckily i'm able to work from home.

LET'S get ready to RUMBLE!

First up on the craftacular, spooktacular list.

GHOST TREES!

Now I've seen this tree on a lot of blogs, It was my idea first people! LOL just kidding, every blog I have seen this on, I thought did a wonderful job. One blog stuck out over the rest, BE DIFFERENT ACT NORMAL, created a giant version of the ghost tree. Click on the link and check it out! While you are on her blog, you have to peek around, she's got some great Halloween crafts and ideas. I originally got the idea of the Ghost tree from Crafting Chicks, however I couldn't find "cheap" Halloween ornaments.

This project COST ME $.96 cents!! I like to round my numbers so in my eyes this project cost me ONE Dollar. YEAH you read that right ONE DOLLAR TO MAKE this wonderful project!

"Oh my gosh LISA, how did you manage to do that?"

Well I'll tell you how. I warned you people to have patience. Sheeesh!

The great orange pot? I've had that sitting around the house since ummm the beginning of summer. I tried to grow herbs in it, and well, let's just say I'm not good at gardening. The branches? Yeah I took those from my neighbor A's tree in her backyard. Well of course she knew I took them, she did let me into her backyard and all. The spray paint? The only item I had to purchase, $.96 cents from Walmart. Booh YA SON! The ghosts? Those are just tissues, and I have a ton of tissue boxes all over the house. I used white thread The BF gave me out of his sewing kit to hang the ghosts.

Now for the moment you have all been waiting for. Here it is, in all it's ghostly glory!

Why do all my crafts look so much better in person? I guess like me, my crafts are just not photogenic

Up next

BLING BLING PUMPKINS

My son can vouch for me that I like to bling out anything I can. Yeah I blinged out his DS and he took off all the bling, because he thought it was too "girly!" Whatever BOY, do you how long it too me to put each little crystal on your DS to spell your name?

Anyway, I purchased these cute little pumpkins for $.25 each at Lucky's the other day and was trying to figure out what I could do to them to "spice" them up. Then I saw these glitter pumpkins over at I WANT TO MAKE THAT, day 9 of her 31 day Halloween challenge. I thought I had glitter hanging around the house, NO LUCK, all I could find was glitter glue and I just wasn't feeling that. Then I found these cute metallic leaves and thus the BLING BLING pumpkin was born.

It's not the greatest craft I have created, but it works. I figure I can use this decoration all the way through Thanksgiving. I have to admit, I really wish I had glitter in my house!

This craft cost me $.50 to make.YUP FIFTY CENTS, the cost of the pumpkins. I already had the glue and metallic leaves floating around the house.

So for under $2, I was able to make TWO Spooktacular Crafts! Talk about using YOUR STASH

Now for this weekends grand finale!

HALLOWEEN TRICK OR TREAT BAGS!

I told you all how I was planning to make the kids Halloween trick or treat bags, right? If not go read my past Spooktacular posts. Well I finally got to making them and let me tell you, I can bust these bags out ALL DAY. I think it takes me maybe 5 minutes to make each bag. That's right 5 minutes, cause I'm super fast like that!

All you need is some Halloween fabric. I purchased 1/2 yard of each design (except the grey and black skulls) and was able to complete 1 bag out of that half yard. The BF had some thin rope hanging out in the garage and I purchased the black thread when I was buying the fabric at Walmart. The Pumpkin and pirate skulls fabric was a little over $1 for a half yard. The Black and Grey skulls were more expensive at $4.44 for a yard. The Boy wanted the skulls, how do you say no to a cute spoiled 9 year old?

No I don't have patience to follow directions or by gosh, MEASURE fabric. So my bags, well they came out 3 different sizes. LOL Oh well they are work perfectly.

I have to thank, Valerie over at Frugal Family Fun Blog and her online sewing class for this project. Check out her blog! Her and her daughters create the best crafts, EVER!

Remember how I told you I couldn't give the kids an empty treat bag? Well here it is full of all my Halloween Spooktacular treats. Halloween treat boxes full of Halloween goodies, Pumpkin Poop, Pixie tricks and ghost gum.

Now for the other two bags.

This is the largest of the two bags. Opps, it's larger then it needs to be. LOL but hey it's for the child who wants a lot of candy.

That's all for this weeks Halloween Spooktacular. I have 3 more bags to make before Halloween. I'm curious to see which fabrics my sister chose for her two boys.

Come back next week for more Halloween Spooktacularness.

What's your chocolate say about you?

Anyway as I was replying to all my comments last Friday and visiting every one's blogs when I came across the:

Over at THE OFFICIAL BLOG OF KRIMSIN. If you have not been to her blog, you have to check it out. She is one of my most loyal and dedicated followers and commenter's. She just plain rocks, so go visit her!!

So what does the Chocolate Oracle say about me?

THAT I'm CLASSY!!

Apparently enjoying eating Dark Carmel Covered Star Shaped chocolate makes one classy!

I have to laugh, because if loving to wear flip flops, jeans and hoodies is classy than I think the definition in the dictionary needs to be re-written. I mean if classy means you will burp loud in public, blow your nose at the dinner table and drop food on your chest when you eat, than yeah I'm totally classy!

I don't want to piss off the oracle, so I'm rolling with it!!

You are sophisticated, modern, and high class. LOL YA RIGHT!!
Your taste is refined, but you are not picky. PAAALEASE, do you know me?
You are often the first to try something new. YEAH OKAY I AGREE WITH THAT
You are emotionally expressive and sensitive. MAYBE A LITTLE SENSITIVE.
You're effect by everything around you. UMM NOT REALLY.
Your friends appreciate your open heart, but they are afraid of hurting your feelings. WHAT FRIENDS? I HAVE FRIENDS?
You love new adventures and activities. OH YES I DO!! ROAD TRIP??
You enjoy living a full life, even if it is chaotic. MAYBE SOMETIMES.
You feel lost when things are quiet. YEAH NOT SO MUCH!
You rather not think...you prefer to just do! SO TRUE, SO TRUE. I HATE USING MY BRAIN.

What's your chocolate oracle saying about you?
