Am I living in IRAQ?

I POSTED TWICE TODAY, I JUST HAD TO POST THIS AS IT DISTURBS ME!!

Where did i move to? I mean I love it here, but the crimes getting to be too much.

1) 2 weeks ago through my neighbors bedroom window we watched as a man hunt took place. Not sure the details on it, but it was still crazy to watch a house being ambushed and helicopters in the sky.

2) Last Saturday night the cops were called to a house in the court next to us for Domestic Violence. There kids were running outside alone, and they had to be under 5.

3) Now this happened this morning about a half mile from my house. What if my son was at this school? What's wrong with people? http://www.ktvu.com/

Antioch Student Gunned Down Near Campus, Drive by shooting!

ANTIOCH, Calif. --

A student walking to Antioch’s Deer Valley High School early Wednesday was gunned down on a street near campus by an unidentified shooter in a car, who then sped away, according to co-principal Scott Burgerhouse.

Burgerhouse told KTVU that the shooting took place at about 8:30 a.m. as students were arriving for a day of classes. The campus went immediately into a lock down mode; students were sent to classrooms and police rushed to the scene.

The unidentified victim – a male student – was struck several times and taken by helicopter to John Muir Hospital. His condition was unknown, but Burgerhouse said the student’s parents were on the way to the hospital.

Police said it appeared the shooting took place after a verbal altercation between a group of students both on the street and in the car.

A citywide manhunt was underway, but the gunman remained at large, police said.
Burgerhouse said he had met with about 100 parents to guarantee them that their teenagers were safe. He said the school remained under lock down, but that classes were underway.

I love my neighbors and the city, but the crime has got to stop!! I mean this isn't the first time I've posted about the crime in this city. People blame it on section 8 and everyone moving out here from Richmond and Oakland. I don't know anything about that so I can't judge. I only know the facts of what I see and the news reports.

Pissed off and a bit freaked out for the safety of my friends and family!!

I think my blogs doing pretty well. I've been blogging for almost 2 months now and have almost 100 followers and over 6600 page views (most are probably from me. lol). I've won many awards, visited some wonderful blogs and I've learned a lot about blogging and the how to use html and stuff. It's been a fun journey so far and I hope it continues.

Tuesday's Football Tracker, Week 1!

Tuesdays Football tracker, how did your team do? It was a great opening weekend in our household. A weekend full of smiles and lots of GO, GO, GO, GO, GO YEAH!!!!!!!

Dallas Cowboys - WON - The BF and The Boy's Team. Thank God, you all know how guys can get when their team loses. Seriously...shhh some pout like babies. Oh noooo, nooo, nooo my two favorite men. NEVER.

Seattle Seahawks - WON - My Team - OH YEAH, OH YEAH,. WHO IS NUMBER ONE. Okay the RAMS have lost 11 games in a row since last season, so what a win is a win, is a win! We Seahawks take it anyway we can.

Did you vote on the Monday night game? Were you correct?

AND THE WINNER of the MONDAY NIGHT GAME is...............................................THE SAN DIEGO CHARGERS!! What a close game, it came down to the last 21 seconds! Chargers pulled this win out of their butts.

WHAT AN UPSET, the Raiders DOMINATED THE ENTIRE GAME!! The Raiders have not won an opening night game in 7 years now and the Charges have won the last 12 games against the Raiders!

6 people voted - I think that's a great turn out for a slow start! HEY who was the lone Raider fan? Don't be shy we are all nice on here. I mean they were amazing last night!

Hey what was with the ref's ORANGE uniforms. I think I like them! I wonder if they did it because it makes it easier for the players to identify where the Refs are during the game since one team is usually all in white.

Talk about home team advantage, OMG, what hole did the Raiders crawl out of ? They played way better then I expected. You have to give credit where credit is due, even if it is the Raiders and even though they lost. I'll think twice about betting against them again. I mean it's still early in the season, but I totally thought this would be a blow out, Chargers shutting out the Raiders. Boy was I wrong. The Chargers looked like they were a team full of rookies. This goes to show ANYTHING can happen in Football. Never rule out the underdog!

The Chargers QB Rivers, I think got a little too feisty with the wrong team. Oakland is not a team you want to start sh*t with on the field. Not to mention their fans are crazy and their coach, please he knocked out his own defensive assistant coach (they are all crazy). Anyway, Rivers started to lose it in the 3rd quarter, I thought I was going to see a Serena Williams moment only between players (he threw his mouth piece out in the middle of a play to talk smack to a Raider). Can you say penalty, then right after that penalty the Chargers got another. Keep it together Rivers, keep it together. It was a great come back the last 2 minutes of the game for the Chargers.

All in all, what a close game, this is what football is all about!!

So who will be victorious next MONDAY night, SEPTEMBER 21st?

This again is another no brainer Monday night game for me (LOL didn't I say that about the Charger / Raider game? Who am I kidding) I wouldn't advise you to listen to me. LOL Take heed of my advice, but don't actually take my advice. Or whatever.

My crystal football says the Colts are going to smash the Dolphins. Weren't the Dolphins like totally DEFEATED 2 years ago. Wait I think they won 1 game, good going guys you ruined your losing streak. It's not golf, the more points you have the better. Who am I to talk, I mean it's not like the Seahawks are much better. LOL

Yeah and then he came out of retirement, then retired again and is now playing for the Vikings. I can't believe it!! One white girl and one Puerto Rican Mutt!

What happens when 1 White girl and and 1 Puerto Rican mutt get together in the kitchen?

They make Lumpia of course! Well I guess we used the wrong wrappers because they were more like egg rolls. So us White and Puerto Rican people like to call then Lumpia Rolls. No matter how they look, they still tasted yummy.









You can't make Lumpia rolls without of course having a margarita or two, maybe 3.

Living the American Dream and LOVING IT!!

It's been 1 year today since we've moved into our FIRST PLACE, TODAY. We moved in a month before actual closing (October 30th). Short Sales are nightmares and we almost lost the house several times, not to mention the stress of moving in a month early and not knowing if we were going to close or get kicked out. It was worth the wait, the stress and the tears!! We've turned this 2000 sq ft house into a home. The best part, we bought it so low, in this economy I believe we actually have equity in the house. One persons loss was our gain!

I thought moving from a 1 bathroom place to a 2 1/4 bathroom house would be the best thing in the world. Boy was I wrong. No one told me I'd now be cleaning 3 toilets, 2 bathtubs, 3 sinks and 3 floors.

Besides the cleaning of toilets, we love our house. We've enjoyed decorating it, entertaining in it and fixing it up.

Here are some before and after pictures of our FIRST PLACE!! We still have a lot to do, we are taking it day by day, month by month. We've learned that with a house, the projects are never ending.

I know all the walls are white. The BF won't let me paint. I think when we do decide to paint, we will have to hire a professional as our ceilings are really high and I well we just don't paint rooms very well.
